Yorkshire to benefit from a multimillion pound investment for high-quality broadband
Yorkshire is all set to receive a funding of multimillion pound to be used to provide high quality broadband connection access all over the country. Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) had invested this money for the region to set up a latest network. This is expected to be part of some pilot scheme, wherein, the rural areas of the UK will also get connected to very fast internet services. European Regional Development Fund has also agreed to provide equal investment as that of BDUK, for this purpose. Hence, we can expect somewhere from £25 and £30 million to be invested to roll out the broadband connections. County Councillor, Carl Les, chair of Connecting North Yorkshire, believes that in Yorkshire with developing community and businesses, fast broadband connection is a necessity. He goes on to confirm that it is the availability of a company telephone system and remote access to servers that makes it at par with London and the Leeds.
