Wispa limited condemns the ambitious broadband plans of the government, asserting that the UK customers will be stuck with welfare broadband. According to the company, under the broadband plans of the government customers across the UK will have to use the welfare broadband. The communications consultancy based in rural mid-Wales said that the broadband plan of the government is not sufficiently ambitious. Chief operating officer oat wispa, Richard Brown said that accepting speeds of less than 20Mbp and 2Mbps is the same as accepting that the UK will not have a global digital future. Very soon, the UK will not be known as leading economy he warned the government.

Conservative-led coalition's broadband plan should be more ambitious to make UK a part of the digital future. When other countries were making efforts to push their broadband strategies, Ofcom was going behind the headlines, noted Mr Brown. Ofcom has been urged discard the providers charging broadband customers full rate for 'up to' services. To bring this to the attention of the regulator, the company is carrying out a campaign too. Tim Farron, Liberal Democrat MP has offered his support for this scheme. He describes the current system as unfair and wants the regulator to go down really hard on the practice.
