West Sussex County Council welcomes BT’s efforts for faster broadband service
Provision of faster broadband 12,000 properties in West Sussex by BT has been praised by the West Sussex County Council (WSCC). Faster broadband service is now available in Bosham, Midhurst, Birdham within the county. The places like Worthing, East Grinstead and Chichester have already been benefited. John Weaver of BT informed that about 86% of the West Sussex properties will be able to avail the service once the exchange is upgraded this summer. Local authorities have welcomed the investment by BT in the infrastructure. According to Lionel Barnard of WSCC, advancement in the communication facilities will be extremely useful for the success and improvement of rural folks of West Sussex. The businesses will be in a better position to compete with those in other parts of the UK. It will create bore job opportunities for the youth. The students will be in a position to take up online studies. On the whole, it will improve the living standard of the people. Up-gradation of exchanges has also brought benefits to East Sussex. 13,500 households and business concerns in the area are now taking advantage of the fast copper broadband service. Download speed of 20 Mb is available in the area. This is twice that BT has provided in most of the places in the country.
