Vulnerability of Mac App Store to Piracy unveiled
It has been reported that the concerns over piracy of the purchased Mac App Store applications marred the otherwise successful launch of the Apple Mac App Store. The App Store was launched on Thursday. Find exclusive broadband offers, deals and broadband comparison before choosing a broadband provider.
The major factor behind the concerns is that a number of applications in the Mac App Store can be copied and consumed by hands that have not paid for those. It is the developers and not the company that are responsible for making sure that thewy were duly secured against unauthorised consumption. This is not the case with the iOS App Store.
It is interesting that a few developers have ignored the advice given by Apple on the method of implementing a validation system and are currently facing with the prospect of unscrupulous consumers caopying their applications.
The most high-profile example noted so far has been Angry Birds, with the online posted instructions showing the customers the method to run the application on any system once it has been bought.
Incidentally, one of the unique selling points of the Mac App Store has been piracy protection. This was engaged by Apple for encouraging developers to sign up.
According to the QA and Support head at Realmac Software, Nik Fletcher, he was surprised that a number of developers hardly implemented the validation process prior to the launch as provided ahead of time by Apple.
