UK's Oxford City placed among Top Cities in Global Broadband Ratings

Wednesday, April 28th 2010

UK's Oxford City has been placed among the Top 5 Cities in the world in terms of Global Broadband ratings, reportedly.  According to reports published by Akamai,  this global rating is based on the speed of broadband usage.  This data is based upon the research undertaken from Akamai's own server network.  Currently,  people in Oxford experience average broadband download speeds of  up to 14.1 Mbps, thus placing the UK city as the fifth fastest in the world.  Berkeley in California, USA  came out tops with a 18.3 Mbps average speed. Global Broadband Suppliers have well played their vital roles.

Oxford has thus far gained benefits from factors that appear to be unique in the way that the Exchanges connect well over eighteen thousand of its customers within the local area. Therefore, this amounts to  not much of a distance between the exchange and the building, as such.  3 other UK cities, with lesser speeds however,  that made their way into the charts were Southampton,  Bristol and Cambridge.
