UK Customers face Online TV Pitfall this Christmas
Surveys have almost affirmed that about one third of the people in the United Kingdom were planning to watch more TV programmes online, this Christmas. It is against this backdrop it has been claimed by a comparison website that if they were not doing this meticulously they could end up being slapped with fines for exceeding their data download limits. The broadband comparison website has also taken pain to publish certain tips to avoid excess fines this Christmas, such as getting the right supplier and package, monitoring the usage, turning of P2P programmes and downloading at night.
The survey carried out by Broadband Choices on 1,400 customers warned that the 32 per cent of the custmers that were planning to enjoy television programmes online during this festive season should make sure that they were not hit with heavy fines for exceeding usage limits.
It is known to almost all that most broadband packages comes with a fair usage policy if they don not have a set download limit. Therefore, it was important that the customers know such policies and terms to monitor the data downloaded by their households in the United Kingdom.
It is also worth mentioning here that in case of a household exceeding the data download limit set by the broadband service provider, it could be inadvertently slapped with a financial fine. On the other hand, the broadband supplier has also the option of throttling the connection speeds for a set term.
