Towers in Hereford churches to have broadband antenna
The Internet Service Provider, ‘allpay Broadband’, has got the permission from the Diocese of Hereford to erect a broadband antenna in the tower of Hereford Cathedral. It will be of great benefit to the northern village residents for accessing the internet.
The Hereford Cathedral will be the first in the UK to allow the tower to be used for such a purpose. The provider has got the license in the month of January to do so in a number of other churches as well coming under the Diocese of Hereford.
Tony Killeen of ‘allpay Broadband’, who himself is an entrepreneur, stated that the provider is happy to be involved in the provision of broadband to thousands of residents, badly in need of fast and dependable internet connection.
The tower will have a ‘point-to-point antenna’ to receive allpay signal from Dinedor and access points on its four sides. A subscriber module is installed in the customer’s place.
The height of the tower will be advantageous in that it can open up a sight-radius of five miles. That will enable in expanding the service as well.
Extending the broadband service to remote villages will give a boost to the local businesses. In addition, it will help the students in their studies. There is no need to mention that it will provide entertainment to the residents.
