Tourism in Sussex badly affected due to poor internet connectivity
Broadband has become so important today that the commercial and industrial establishments cannot go on with out it. This holds good for retail, manufacturing, tourism etc, to name a few.
The quality of broadband service plays an important role in the success of any business. Similarly, non availability of broadband ruins the business. A good example of this is the tourism industry.
Chris Osborne, the owner of the Fourcroft Hotel in Tenby said that the current tourists are highly advanced with respect to technology and do enquiries and bookings online. They have no time for paper works. They are always in need of high speed connectivity. Obviously they avoid places of ‘notspots’. This badly affects tourism in rural areas.
The satellite broadband service will do a lot of good to the rural tourism industry and the customers who badly need internet connection all the time.
According to Mark Froud, the chief of Sussex Enterprise, 2011 was a rather bad year, especially for the businesses in the UK. The country had to fight the economic turmoil’s.
The primary thing needed in the whole of the UK is better broadband service. That itself will pave the way for the uplift of the business concerns.
Froud stated that slow speed access stands on the way of progress. This is true particularly in the case of counties like Sussex.
It is encouraging that the government has risen to the occasion and has introduced the Broadband Delivery UK program to set things right.
