Reports state that there has been 17.4 million people have taken broadband connections across the world in the third quarter of the year just gone by. In a research undertaken jointly by Broadband Forum and the analyst company Point Topic, it has been seen that there has been a 3.08 per cent increase in the last lap, meaning in the last three months of the year 2011. As per the report it was found that there were a number of 581.3 million broadband Internet connections throughout the whole wide world. This showed that the number of broadband subscribers that were included was greater than the numbers that were added in any quarter ever since the beginning of the year 2009. This was reported by ISPreview.co.uk. The chief Executive of Broadband Forum, Mr. Robert Mersh was reported to have said that the numbers were extremely good for the flourishing of the industry. He stated that they were particularly happy to note the manner in which the fibre know-how seemed to be getting off to a great start. Oliver Johnson, the CEO of Point Topic commented that the people who were using the broadband facilities were indicating that they were beginning to get all set to pay for quicker, high speed broadband connectivity. This would be great news to Internet Service Providers like BT and Virgin Media who are still in the process of investing more into the high-speed and extremely fast fibre facilities that they plan to roll out soon.
