The UK Telecom Minister Visits Motorola
Stephen Carter, the British minister of broadcasting, technology and communications will pay a visit to the Swindon site of Motorola today, where he will see the company's LTE (Long Term Evolution) testing and trial network laboratory. This is one laboratory, where Motorola demonstrates the latest technologies pertaining to mobile broadband. LTE, regarded by some as the 4G technology, is also deemed as a leading step in the mobile communication sector. It is expected to potentiate the mobile broadband download speeds to up to 100Mbps, apart from offering back up to a wide range of cutting edge applications. Stephen Carter meanwhile said that the government had proposed a universal service for broadband in their interim Digital Britain report, which could be optimised by a combination of wired and wireless, as well as fixed and mobile networks. He added that since they were commited in achieving that Motorola's Swindon trials were very much significant to them, particularly for the fact that it can be used to stretch broadband coverage to even the remotest areas of Britain.
The complete Digital Britain, visualised by the UK government that according to the regime's expectation, would place the country at the forefront of global innovation, apart from being the quality and investment vanguard in the segments of communication and technology. LTE, being an advance technology is perceived to play a key role in the achievement of high mobile broadband speeds that would turn out as a much welcome advantage for the government's concept.
