The UK government to provide more fund for faster broadband initiative
Chancellor George Osborne has disclosed a number of measures to facilitate economic progress of the country.
Plans to improve the digital infra structure of the country was highlighted. Tax relief will be provided for those who intend to start industries in the UK.
The Chancellor’s statement comes at a time when the UK, along with most countries in re Europe, is facing economic recession.
It shows how much importance is given by the government for the mobile phone connectivity.
The government’s intention is to cater to 90% of the domestic and commercial sectors with fixed broadband. At the same time 99% of the families must be able to avail mobile coverage.
The government’s plans will ensure an economically advanced countryside in the near future.
Apart from the countryside, 10 cities including Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and London will also be getting the benefit of super fast broadband along with Wi-Fi connection. An amount of GBP 100 million has been earmarked for that.
The government hopes that this move will encourage the small and medium sized industries to open new businesses. The government is also ready to fund for new scientific projects. As much as GBP 0.5 billion has been set aside for the scientific projects.
The government will provide financial help to the small companies with initiative. Bigger business groups will also be encouraged. Tax concession will also be provided wherever necessary.
