Wednesday, February 1st 2012

As per reports, the iPad from the computer giants Apple seemed to be in control of the media market in the course of the last quarter in the year 2011. In keeping with the information received from Strategy Analytics, it is clear that in spite of the increasing preferences shown by people for the Android devices, the iPad gathered a market share of 58 percent in the period from October to December in 2011. Google’s competitor was responsible for 39 percent of what was sold reducing the gap with Apple. However Apple succeeded in selling fifteen million iPads in that quarter. Strategy Analytics stated that the overall market for tablets increased from 10.7 million sales in the fourth quarter of the year 2010 as against the 26.8 million that were sold in the same period in the next year i.e. 2011. Tim Cook, Chief Executive of Apple who addressed a meeting the previous week said that the company had not experienced any slowing down in numbers in sales even after the Kindle Fire had been released in October. This only goes to show that iPad’s popularity concerning broadband packages, backed by the mobile providers in the UK has not waned in any way.
