The British unwilling to opt for better saving deals
According to new research firm ‘Governor Money’, the British consumers are not so much interested in broadband deals as savings packages.
The firm has found out that the British spend considerable time to locate the ideal saving provider but do not settle for any saving deal.
This ultimately results in a combined loss of GBP 12.8 billion in interest payments.
Miles Bingham, a spokesman for Governor Money, informed that, as per the research, due to the availability of ‘online search’ through internet, the subjects take pain to go through the various savings deals. But in spite of consuming a total of 2.8 million hours they fail to make up a decision.
The reason is that they do not want to switch over to a new savings provider. They are reluctant to contact the new company staff, submit the application form etc. They come to the conclusion that the existing provider is good enough. They do not realize that they are losing much because of this attitude.
Ofcom, the telecom regulator experienced the same problem with the internet users. At least 45% of the home phone and broadband consumers do not want to go for another service provider even though they are dissatisfied with the existing firm, as though it is too much of a hassle. This holds true also for 39% of those who have the Migration Authorization Code.
