Satellite broadband report issued by Space Leadership Council

Space Leadership Council has released satellite broadband report, which highlights the role of satellite operators for delivering broadband to the UK’s rural communities as well as worldwide. British homes and businesses without access to terrestrial infrastructure will benefit from it. Besides, it will allow UK to compete better for satellite-based broadband services outside the markets. Recommendations for UK's satellite industry and government are included in this report. It will embark the level of demand for satellite services in the UK and worldwide, improvements in the quality of service required from operators, It will also open up opportunities for the local delivery decision makers to deliver services for citizens in the most remote 'not spots’ region in the UK. Team with Lowry Stanage as the head includes BT, TalkTalk, Avanti Communications, Astrium, Ofcom, Intellect, the UK Space Agency and the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
