Rural residents of North Yorkshire bestowed faster broadband
As part of the rollout of superfast broadband, in the UK, more rural residents of North Yorkshire are expected to get high speed internet access. Village communities around Appletreewick, Blubberhouses and Darley are the three selected regions for the next roll out. Access to upgraded or new high speed broadband speeds to the individuals and businesses in these areas will be offered by utilizing the Government funding of 50,000 Pounds.
LN Communications Ltd will provide the service in these areas and the project will be supported financially through grants from the Rural Development Programme for England and ‘Connecting North Yorkshire’. North Yorkshire County Council has worked closely with Craven District Council and Harrogate Borough Council on this project and ‘Connecting North Yorkshire’ is an initiative led by North Yorkshire County Council.
Mr Carl Les, the County Councillor and chair of ‘Connecting North Yorkshire’ said that for the future of the rural economy and for the further development of businesses and houses in this region, access to high speeds broadband connections is very important. The rural communities in Thornthwaite, Timble, Thruscross, Padside, Storiths, Darley, Hartington, Hebden, Hazlewood Burnsall, Barden, Appletreewick and Blubberhouses are the places that are going to be benefited from the new grant funding package.
