Residential homes and business firms in the rural regions of Lincolnshire seem to be still unnoticed by the telecommunication firms who are competing among themselves to provide quicker speeds to regions that already have good broadband facilities.

As per the news from the Country Land and Business Association (CLA), Virgin Media is far ahead of their delivery of high speed broadband to 13 million households in the UK is applicable to the metropolitan regions that have good connectivity earlier.

The CLA head for Rural Development Dr. Charles Trotman, stated that rural regions were still not gaining anything as a result of rivalry being strong amongst the providers.

He also stated that the newest roll out from Virgin Media does not seem to notice the non-metropolitan households and business firms, when they are offering connections to areas that already have decent broadband; in fact they actually have faster connectivity.

Dr. Trotman stated that the plans that Virgin Media have to increase their download speeds two fold to 120Mbps is unjust to residential homes and businesses that are presently finding it difficult to even avail of the average 2Mbps speeds. He added that a minimum of one fifth of the rural regions have absolutely no accessibility to broadband.

He also stated that non urban regions with poor broadband access must be provided with the minimum speeds before they even think of increasing the speeds two fold for those areas that do not really need any improvement. He said that they were trying to get to talk to Virgin media urgently to determine the most ideal way to assist rural towns.

The CLA has requested the government to make certain that all businesses and homes in rural regions will be able to obtain access to a broadband connectivity of at least 5Mbps speeds.
