Predictions for the New Year by the service provider ‘Be Broadband’
Advanced technology brings higher speed. This is applicable to broadband in particular.
The service provider ‘Be Broadband’ said that the year 2011 saw the advent of tablet PCs and invasion of powerful ‘ultrabooks’ as consumers became more fond of handheld devices.
In the New Year the service provider predicts the arrival of media tablets, which can give stiff competition to iPad of Apple. Amazon Kindle Fire is one such tablet.
There is every chance that netbook, the small 9 to 10 inch laptop, will make its exit giving way for the powerful 12 inch super-fast ‘ultrabook’. Dell has already discontinued the manufacture of netbook. Others are expected to follow.
It remains to be seen as to how a gaming device or console will be able to take on Cloud-based services OnLive and Steam.
Mobile operating systems like iOS and Android will compete for the leadership, but Windows Phone and Web OS will not lag far behind.
Apple will release ‘Max OS X Lion’, which will be a hybrid between OS X and iOS.
In the meantime, Microsoft is planning to unveil an operating system ‘Windows 8’ which will suit both mobile devices and the desktop.
The consumers will prefer to take digital content for rent rather than making outright purchase.
