People Subscribed to Pipex UK Ltd. Have Been Shifted to Global 4 Communications

Tuesday, February 7th 2012

Since January 2012, all consumers subscribed to the old Pipex and Bulldog would be shifted to Global 4 Communications. The peoples billing would be shifted to Home Telecom which is the consumer division of Global 4 as of February and those concerned should receive a copy of the letter communicating to them the alterations in their billing system. The letter is as follows: Clients of Pipex and Bulldog are obviously continuing the terms and conditions that are prevalent presently. For people looking for Home Telecom, or for new consumers interested in make changes in their existing packages, they company would offer a monthly fees of 23 pounds broadband item to approximately 80% of the country, while in the rest of the UK, the charges would be 25 pounds per month. For those belonging to the final 20%, they would be allowed a 75GB allowance every month with charges of 1.25 pounds for every GB used above the 75GB in two successive months. When compared with other packages it is clear that though broadband can be accessed at 11.65 pounds a month, this would be available only if their 27.96 pounds service is subscribed for. This would be inclusive of the rent of the line, 300 minutes of calls and broadband. Another point that you can see on the Home Telecom product pages is that the contention ratio that is long since obsolete. Though contention is very much in existence, fixed ratios cannot be evaluated and this is what is surprising when figures like 33:1 are presented for Sky, 50:1 for BT, TalkTalk and Virgin Media. The definition provided regarding the contention ratio on-site seems to give people wrong impressions. The question was not ever the sharing connectivity with other users, it was more about distributing the capabilities of the backhaul that was always much more important that one’s own connectivity. Tiscali was one of the providers who would only offer 2Mbps backhaul when 1Mbps was the speed of the common connectivity, and this would be populated as 50:1. This implies that there would be 100 xi Mbps consumers on that particular link. As you can well imagine this would provide terrible performances when compared to those providers who offer the 50:1 ratios with greater links to backhauls.
