People Living in Shropshire to receive Free Broadband as per New Plans of Council
According to the new plans drawn up by the council of Shropshire, about 10,000 of the locals of the will receive free broadband. People who are residing in the housing estate in Brookside in Telford may be provided Wi-Fi connections free of cost, a facility which included in the multi-million pound deal. The objective of this scheme is to assist the residents avail job opportunities and to enhance their learning skills by utilizing the Internet. Shaun Davies, Councillor for Telford and Wrekin Council informed the Shropshire Star that offering Wi-Fi Free throughout the estate was a part of their six million pound venture. It provides job options, enables kids to do their homework and people can work even carry out their work from home. It’s a situation that is beneficial to both. Those who already have broadband connectivity can take advantage of the free Wi-Fi offering. Mr. Davies also said that providing the residents with broadband is the solution to revival. The government has cautioned that the country is in the danger of the digital divide if something better is not done to ensure that the people of the nation do not get connected to the Internet. Statistics show that among the 10.2 million adults who have never had a chance to browse the web, four million of them are taken as digitally expelled.
