Northamptonshire’s broadband plans to become real shortly

The UK government introduced the ‘Broadband Delivery UK’ (BDUK) program with the aim of making available at least 2Mb broadband for the whole of the UK. Another objective was to provide next generation broadband technology to 90% of the population within the next four years.

Most of the users are to benefit from the faster broadband connections within their localities. Faster connectivity is ideal for business development. Most of the commercial establishments have the facility to approach the larger market with the help of that. It also promotes tourism. The students are also benefited for their online studies. The jobseekers have the best means to search for opportunities.

‘BT Broadband’ has been undertaking the installation of fibre broadband in South Chard, Haddington etc.

The Northampton County Council has its own plans for the county, which it wants to achieve through a local service provider.

Andre Gonzales de Savage, a member of the county council stated that the county will be greatly benefited by the high broadband speed. It will allow the business establishments to compete in the national and international market. Ultimately it will pave the way for better economy for the county.

With the approval of its broadband plan, the county council has been provided with a fund of GBP 4.08 million by BDUK for achieving the target.
