North Yorkshire to benefit from the government’s broadband program

Saturday, December 31st 2011

The households and business concerns in North Yorkshire will be benefited from the GBP 15 million plan of the government to provide broadband access to the rural area. It will pave the way for the growth of the place.

As per the plan announced by Richard Benyon, the Rural Affairs Minister, six Rural Growth Networks will be created across the country. The plan was originated by George Osborne, the Chancellor in his autumn statement.

Julian Smith, the MP for ‘Skipton and Ripon’ remarked that North Yorkshire will ask for a share in the funding to help the county in achieving superfast broadband connectivity.

The representatives of the areas have time till the month of March to apply for the funding.

Mr. Smith is pleased and thankful for the prompt and quick action by the government. In fact he has been campaigning for faster broadband for quite some time. He will do his best and will do everything to achieve the objective. In fact, the central administration, the county councils and the public leaders have to work together to achieve the broadband initiative.

Along with the government funding, investment from the private sector and funding from other sources will make things easier and faster.

The most important fact is that fast broadband will encourage growth of the place and ultimately the economy of the whole country. Next, it will put an end to the digital divide between the urban and rural areas.
