Neil Collins of ‘Metaswitch Networks’ informed that availability of faster broadband will prevent migration of workers from Norfolk to other places.

Speaking to Eastern Daily Press (EDP), he informed that he himself had recently returned to Great Moulton, after spending eight years in Hertfordshire, as his hometown has been just provided with the faster internet connection.

This has enabled him to work from home as well as spending time with his family. Now he is happy both professionally as well as domestically. He is able to guarantee better output for his company.

He has requested the residents to participate in the ‘Say Yes to Better Broadband’ campaign initiated by the Norfolk County Council and the EDP. The campaign is aimed at bringing high speed internet to 50,000 households and business communities across Norfolk. It will ensure better economy and life for the people of this beautiful place. The residents are asked ensure that the county should not be allowed to lag behind other places in the UK due to lack of communication facilities.

The objective of the campaign is to bring super fast broadband of at least 30 Mbps to major parts of the county. The remaining areas should be catered with a minimum of 2 Mbps download speed.

The government has set aside GBP 15 million for Norfolk to achieve the initiative. The local authorities will also contribute an equivalent amount for the purpose.
