MetronetUK has rebranded to M24Seven after being acquired

Metronet UK has rebranded to M24Seven, as it has earlier been acquired by rival ISP M247 last year for £47.5 million. Mike Darcey, who was earlier with Sky, has become their new Chairman. Metronet UK had recently acquired Venus Business Communications, which has a share of the London market. The ISP is being backed by Livingbridge, the mid-market private equity firm which had invested earlier to the rebranding, which has been done now by the group.


Mike Darcey was with Sky for around 15 years, as its Head of Strategy and also as its COO. He was responsible, during those days, of B2B lines of business of Sky and was responsible for the launch of Sky Broadband business, after its acquisition of Easynet (in 2005). The provider M24Seven claims to operate more than 400 Points of Presence (PoPs), to serve about 34,000 customers, with roughly 230 staff working for them and having ale to achieved 33% annual growth last year.
