Free Broadband Speed Upgrade For Virgin Media Consumers

Friday, January 6th 2012

Internet Service Provider Virgin Media have plans to enhance broadband speed of their consumer in the first three months of this year. It looks like this programme is in competition to BT’s scheme called BT Infinity.

A private source from inside Virgin Media had mentioned to Hardware Heaven that they also have ideas of enhancing the broadband speeds to their current customers free of cost This scheme is a effort by the Internet Service Provider to be the best value broadband provider in the UK as their market share was under great pressure with BT rolling out their new Infinity scheme.

As per their plans, Virgin Media hopes to provide their existing customers with speeds of 30 Mb, as against the 10Mb that was offered earlier and customers who were already receiving 30 Mb speeds would be provided 60MB speed and those getting 50Mb would receive 100Mb speeds. This meant that the least speed offered to current users by Virgin Media would now stand at 30Mb. Virgin Media have announced that this upgrade in broadband speeds would be free of cost to current Virgin Media users and that it would be provided in the first three months of the new year.
