Fibrestream UK's secret plan revealed: Fibre-to-the-Home Broadband on the cards for Lincolnshire Villages

Tuesday, June 1st 2010

It has been revealed that the rural villages of Lincolnshire could soon have access to 100Mbps Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband internet service, thanks to Fibrestream UK. The community network specialist let the cat out of the bag today in a blog post that urged the readers to “work out which local community in the Final Third is getting FTTH this summer.”

Fibrestream has reportedly been developing 100Mbps FTTH services for isolated rural villages in Ashby de la Launde and Bloxholm in Lincolnshire, England. In an interview with BBC Radio, Guy Jarvis, the director of Fibrestream said that the FTTH project nearly achieved its minimum subscriber target that was necessary for it to be considered economically feasible. He also indicated that they hoped to begin the real work with the next few weeks.

However, the interview did not throw light on the specific method to be adopted for Ashby de la Launde. ISPreview reckons that the former will not be the only village in Lincolnshire that will be benefiting from superfast UK broadband.
