East Yorkshire to get faster download speeds thanks to BT

Wednesday, January 4th 2012

BT’s roll out of fibre broadband to Driffield, Hornsea, Withernsea, Keyingham, Market Weighton, Pocklington and Snaith in East Yorkshire will ensure 20 Mb download speeds to 28,000 households and business concerns.

The current average broadband speed is only 10 Mb in the country.

John Anderson of BT said that the company is happy and proud in taking the initiative for the interest of thousands of people in the area. At the prevailing uncertain economic conditions the effort of BT in the broadband field will be a big boost for the local business concerns. In additional the households will be benefited with more entertainment and educational facilities. In coordination with the public sector, BT will ensure that all the areas are catered without exception.

Anderson challenges that no firm has done so much as BT in broadband installation in the UK.

KC is the service provider doing the installation in Hull. This firm has been investing in faster broadband services. The residents of Woodmansey, a village near Hull, are able to get even 100 Mb fibre broadband.

KC has decided to bring ultra fast broadband to 15,000 homes in the area. Nick Thompson of the firm assured that KC is committed to the task.

There is no doubt that the investment by the firm will be wholeheartedly welcomed by the business communities and households of the region.
