Disruption In BT Broadband Services Has Had Severe Effects On 300 Homes in Oxfordshire
The broadband network provided by BT was severely affected when cable burglars hit the supply. This left 300 households without access to the Internet. With crooks taking away copper cables laid by BT from their Steeple Aston Exchange, several houses have had to do without internet connectivity and home telephone connections since Friday the 20th of January. About 300 households in middle Barton and Tackley have been hit by the problem. The cause for this issue was because thieves stole over one kilometre of cable from the network that belonged to the telecommunication stalwarts. Anna Steven, a representative for BT stated that the necessary steps to set the disruption right would star on the 23rd of January, but she has cautioned the residents that it would be some time before their broadband and telephone connections are back to normal. She was said to have informed Oxford Mail that after the most important cables have been restored, they would have to link up every single line by hand. She stated that it was a laborious process that could probably take a while since every line had to be reconnected separately. The affected customers were encouraged by Ms. Steven to get in touch with their Internet Service provider who could take the right measures like introducing diversions in lines till the problem has been resolved. On the morn of Friday the 20th of January, BT had announced a major disruption of their services that hit their business broadband users. However their formal Twitter feed had reported that the issue had been resolved by 11:30 GMT the same day.
