Businesses in the UK are not making the Best of Business Broadband

Saturday, June 23rd 2012

Some of the most recent figures reveal that the business firms in the UK are not making full advantage of the progress that are being made in the business broadband and many other innovative know-how.

Only a couple of days after the publication of figures by the European Commission that showed that the country was far behind some of the other nations in Europe when it concerned broadband speeds, the members of Digital Agenda of the Commission have brought out reports stating that the commercial enterprises in the UK are not keeping pace with the new technology.

More to the point, there is a belief that only 14 percent of the business firms in Britain were selling their ware via the Internet since the last twelve months. This figure is far lower than the European Commission’s intended goal which hoped that one out of every three companies would be vending their products online by the end of another three years.

The Vice President of the European Commission Ms. Neelie Kores remarked that many of the companies were not selling their ware over the Internet which implied that they were in no way making the best of the progresses that were being made in business broadband.

The people of Europe, she stated, were eager to avail of digital know-how and a variety of digital options, however the government was not keeping pace with them.

This information was provided even as the members of the digital Agenda were conducting discussions with broadcasters in the continent regarding the sharing of spectrums in order to provide mobile signals.
