BT Releases List of Towns To Receive High-Speed Broadband
BT has released the new list of about 47 towns throughout Scotland that are included in their plans to receive super-fast broadband connectivity.
The company has stated that it would permit over 180,000 premises to avail of broadband speeds of up to 20 Mbps.
Some of the places that have been included in their new list of towns are Angus, the Scottish Border, Ayrshire, Grampian, Perthshire, Strathclyde, West Lothian, Fife and the Highlands.
According to the Provider this implied that around 72% of all the properties in Scotland would be able to access super-fast broadband connectivity by the summer next year.
Brendan Dick the Director of BT in Scotland said that the company’s plans for providing faster broadband throughout Scotland are beginning to gather momentum.
He also stated that at the beginning of the month they had set forth strategies that would make available high-speed, fibre-based broadband connectivity to 695,500 households and business enterprises by the end of the coming year.
He added that as of then they were in a position to affirm that there would be more significant investment in quicker broadband speed utilizing copper lines.
The said that this would be a big advance to those business enterprises throughout the regions that is included in their plans.
