BT facilities to be utilized by Be broadband to provide Fibre Broadband Services
Be’s initial fibre-optic based broadband services would be provided via BT infrastructure. It has been affirmed by Be Broadband that their first ever fibre-optic broadband item would be certainly offered using BT’s facilities. The Internet Service provider Be Broadband’s Managing Director Chris Stenning elucidated that they would be making the moist of BT OpenReach facilities in those regions that have already been covered by their LLU network and that a BT wholesale product would probably be utilized in locations other than this. Nevertheless he maintained that their firm would only utilize a BT wholesale facility that would be as per their standards and at a reasonable price. This would imply that it would have to be something that they could shape and it would have to be unlimited. As to the question about when the ISP Be Broadband would be rolling out their fibre-optic broadband know-how, Mr. Stenning replied that though the wait was annoying, steady progress was being made for an official launch. He said that they had presented their case regarding their investment on the network and it’s related IT and that they were waiting for consent form their parent company. It was in December that Be Broadband had declared that they were planning to offer fibre broadband with a trial run which connected to the Barking exchange, and this was a move in the right path. The download and upload speeds during their initial speed tests were 37.5Mbps and 8.1 Mbps correspondingly.
