BT aims to create new Apprenticeship, Graduate jobs in 2017

BT, the telecoms giant, intends to create some 1,700 apprenticeship and graduate jobs anew, during this year, it was announced. New employees inducted can be expected to be put into a variety of jobs ranging from engineering roles and cyber security, to even BT Sport production jobs. Apparently some will be at EE and Plusnet too.

BT currently employs some 81,000 people across the country. The company has recruited around 2,500 apprentices and graduates in the past 2 years. This announcement will add to the total and they will be placed across a number of locations. As for BT's access network division Openreach, which would be operating more independently, they would likely to be launching their won recruitment process in future.

CEO of BT, Gavin Patterson, said the right thing to do to keep UK a digital leader, is to invest in the next generation. He pointed out that BT helps in training of teachers of primary schools to teach computer science, plus is recruiting a number of apprentices and graduates.
