Broadband links and also the home connections for Internet are all set to be enhanced in the north-east of the UK.

New Post Leader has pointed out that the programme for super-fast Internet connectivity that has been planned by BT has objectives of providing broadband connectivity to two thirds of the country by the year 2014 and this is already being experienced in the region.

Properties in Belington, Ashington, and Blyth are some of the towns in the North-east that are among the towns in BT’s roll-out and the enhancements in the area would be done in 2012. The Deputy Leader of Northumberland County Council, Councillor Roger Styring stated that broadband had become as significant to the infrastructure and it could be compared to essential services like transport and railways.

He said that in a world that is becoming more and more competitive by the day and also expanding technologically, it is imperative that businesses and homes in their respective localities are in a position to access quicker and steadier Internet connectivity.

It has been declared by the Isle of Wight County Press that week, that the town called Ventnor has also been incorporated into the BT roll-out plan and this would be beneficial to 4000 business enterprises and households in that region.
