Broadband campaign for Norfolk speeds up
High speed internet is inevitable for the promotion of its national and international strategy, according to the members of the Swaffham Tourism Association. That is the basis for the design of a website which highlights the charm of Swaffham to the tourists around the world. That is also the reason for the association to urge the people to participate in the ‘Say Yes to Better Broadband’ campaign initiated by Norfolk County Council and EDP. Mr.Kinnaird, a finalist in the cooking competition of BBC in 2010 is running a cake business in Patton. He depends on the internet to locate new customers and suppliers. He insists the residents not to miss the opportunity of conveying their interest for super fast broadband for Norfolk. His business has flourished thanks to the Twitter and social networking sites. He has managed to send cakes even to Fife and Glasgow. This would not have been possible without the internet. The campaign is not for the need of today. It is necessary to forecast the need after five years. Vanessa Scott of Strattons Hotel and chairman of the Swaffham Tourism Association has very high opinion about the place Swaffham. The website is not intended to merely list the tourism providers. It includes much more including the details about local food suppliers, landscape etc. But for the website it would not have been possible to compete with other parts of the country or the world. The participants have to merely click on the county council’s site and indicate their interest. Surprisingly, the people do not seem to appreciate its value of fast internet even now.
