Broadband bundles offer cheaper option for broadband users
The UK broadband Research firm, Point Topic has reported that the broadband bundles have become the cheaper option for the broadband customers who are looking for cost-effective broadband package with added value services. While the stand-alone broadband deals usually cost much higher than broadband bundles, bundled services also offer another major advantage. Today’s broadband users can bundle broadband, home phone, digital TV service and mobile broadband on a single package for incredibly cheaper prices.
The competitive broadband market in UK and other Western European nations is also an important factor that made the broadband providers to offer bundled services for reduced monthly prices.
Fiona Vanier of Point Topic says:
“Ultimately ISPs want customers, and they want customers who generate revenue, in particular they want growth in revenue. To achieve this they are going to have to hook into all aspects of communication and data transfer, whether it’s voice, video or plain bits,”
“A subscriber who takes more than one service from an ISP is more likely to stay with that provider. They are more likely to generate more revenue over their customer cycle than plain broadband subscribers and that’s what the ISPs, and their shareholders, require.”
The report has also given some interesting data on the price changes that took place during the previous quarter. For instance, the average price of broadband with VoIP service has been slashed from £35.87 per month to £25.17 per month during the last quarter while the average cost of stand-alone broadband stood at £29.71 a month. However, the average price of broadband package with IPTV service saw an upward movement, from £31.97 to £38.27.
