Participants of all categories have uploaded original contents some time or the other. Very few reported about uploading original contents. Participants of Collector or Cybertechie typology admitted that they uploaded contents for others to share. Some justified their uploading act by saying that the uploaded contents they uploaded were niche and people with similar interest could access them. They believed that such niche contents needs to be uploaded to share with others who have encouraged the person to access his preferred contents in the past. However many suggested that uploading is meaningless as many of the contents are available online for access. Majority of the participants feel that uploading original contents was difficult and technical. Uploaded original contents were very rare among the participants. Usually, the participants uploaded the contents which they have downloaded from file sharing sites. Some of them uploaded the contents consciously and some others unknowingly.

Attitudes towards uploading
In the case with Generation File-share, they were unaware about the origin of the downloaded contents. This category of participants was uninformed about peer-to-peer process and their uploading activities. They didn’t know they were uploading the contents and thought they were downloading contents from a website instead from other users of the application. File sharing was considered as the means to access music and contents for everyone and so they never enquired were it came from. The considered people who uploaded the contents as benevolent and unselfish people and didn’t understand why they would do so something like that without any benefit.

In the case of Self-serving customers did not associate themselves with the people who uploaded original content. They considered themselves as downloader and sharer. They were unaware of their uploading activities and though that uploading was done by other people. They believed that people shared contents so that others could continue to access music online for free. Like Generation File-share, they also thought people who uploaded contents as benevolent. Meanwhile, they fail to understand the advantages people gained from uploading.

Collectors and Cybertechies with good technical knowledge uploaded the files as they believed preventing others from downloading the files is hypocritical. Some even monitored the files to see how many have downloaded them. Some complained that their uploaded speeds were affected. When sufficient number of users has downloaded the files, they removed it for creating more memory. They prevented from uploading original contents as they believed that there were enough original files online. Those who uploaded niche contents described the process as difficult and time consuming.
