A think-tank for the government has warmly greeted the announcement of assistance regarding applying the greatly disputable tax on fibre optic broadband connections.

Detailed information regarding how the duty can be levied on the fibre optic broadband lines was put forward by the Valuation Office Agency and this was something that was sincerely welcomed by the Broadband Stakeholder Group (BSG).

It has been reported by ISPreview.co.uk that there is great anxiety that the exorbitant rate of the taxes may put off broadband providers such that they may hesitate to lay the fibre wires in the non-metropolitan regions in the country.

The Chief Executive of BSG, Mr. Antony Walker elucidated that the help and guidance looks into one of the points that were worrying investors who were thinking of providing super-fast broadband network facilities too homes in the last of the one third.

Mr. Walker also stated that the temporary rates were by and large much less when compared to what will be applicable in the networks in the metropolitan regions that belong to the first two thirds.

He also said that there would be more things to be done to make certain that the guidance is properly comprehended by all the shareholders and also hoped that the industry would have the option to give them their reviews.

However on the whole he explains that the guidance would be a great step into the future.
