Amazon is all set to rollout Amazon Channels in the UK and Germany, which is an OTT service offering TV channels plus on-demand content. According to sources, Amazon Channels will initially be offering about 25 Pay-TV linear channels from major broadcast groups and also smaller players.

Amazon will start competing, with the launch of Streaming Partners Program, against the other well established providers on the Pay-TV platform in UK and also in Germany. The OTT service will be part of the Amazon Video platform and will be available through an additional subscription to Amazon Prime members, which was launched in December of 2015 in the US, with partners like Starz, Showtime, AMC and A+C Network.
