A comparison site that did a survey on 1647 British residents found that 59 percent of them felt that the broadband speeds provided to them was extremely slow, whereas 37 percent of them confessed that they were thoroughly dissatisfied with their providers.

Of the number of people where the problem concerns their provider, 46 percent of them complained that they were not able to get to talking to anyone in the provider’s office, while more than half, 51% to be exact, declared that the main cause for their dissatisfaction was bad customer service. Almost 24 percent stated that they were quite satisfied with the broadband facilities that they obtained however over half of them felt that their broadband speeds could be better. Moreover, it was found that the people unhappy with their broadband services were in Leeds, while Aberdeen, Newcastle, Plymouth and Glasgow followed.

Mark Pearson, the Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk said that it was quite amazing to see that so many people were as yet dissatisfied with their broadband speed even as they hear of plans by the various companies to offer enhanced speeds and better facilities to their users. He stated that it was unfortunate that as far as broadband services were concerned the location of one’s residence can also be a reason for slow speeds. He said that it was not easy to select an Internet Service Provider and that it was not difficult to be taken in by the low rates to become a subscriber, and the guarantee of a couple of months of free browsing when one subscribes for the unlimited download packages. But he also added that it would be worth one’s while to really calculate which of the providers would offer the best bargain on a long term basis.
