3.8Mbps is the Average UK Broadband Speed

The state of the internet report for quarter 1 of 2010 has been released by Akamai, which presents an assessment of the broadband internet performance across the planet.

It is interesting that the statistics of the report claims that the average connection speed for a broadband internet line of the United Kingdom is 3.8Mbps, which is up from the beginning of last year, when the same agency had estimated 3.4Mbps on average.

However, it contradictorily proves to be greatly less than the average UK speed results published by the telecommunications regulator of the United Kingdom, Ofcom last day that was 5.2Mbps.

Meanwhile, the top 100 cities in the world for broadband speeds have been ranked by Akamai, which was dominated by the Asian countries, particularly Japan. Of the 100 cities, 61 were Japanese cities.

Unfortunately, no city in the United Kingdom managed to secure a place in the elite list of 100 cities readied by Akamai.
