2019 Internet Hero & Villain nominations invited by ISPA Awards

Monday, June 10th 2019

In the month of April, the Internet Service Providers Association has announced the list of finalists shortlisted for 2019 ISPA Awards. The awards will feature 12 categories with the addition of two categories - the Best Customer Solution and Best Infrastructure Provider this year.

The awards is getting closer to their gala ceremony which will be organized by the ISPA on July 11, 2019 at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane Hotel, London where the winners will be announced.

Now the ISPA has announced that they have opened public nominations for Internet Villain’ and ‘Internet Hero’ categories. Last year the Internet Hero title winner was Martha Spurrier – the Director of Liberty for their challenge in high court on controversial 2016 Investigatory Powers Act.

This year also, it is really challenging to know who will be nominated for Internet Hero or Villain as there are many challenging topics going on around Facebook (Mark Zuckerberg), the Online Harms White Paper (censorship), Huawei (i.e. Donald Trump, China etc.),  implementation of DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and the Porn Block (online age verification) etc.

The nominations for award categories can be submitted by public until Wednesday - June 19, 2019 to their emailawards@ispa.org.uk or via twitter page with the hashtags #InternetHero or  #InternetVillain.
