30Mbps Fast Broadband for Torbay Council
Eclipse Internet, one of the emerging internet service providers in the United Kingdom, has decided to provide Torbay Council with a superfast broadband connection. This move has been made mainly with a view to support the council at a time when it finds its broadband network choked due to increased usage. According to news sources, Torbay Council had been previously using a leased broadband line from the same UK broadband provider (Eclipse Internet) that was all about an internet access speed of 4Mbps. Incidentally, the council has been lately witnessing a performance drop with this line, apparently due to an increased traffic. The council along with the internet service provider foresees the chance of boosting the newly proposed 30Mbps broadband line, in the future, to up to 100Mbps according to the expansion requirements lying ahead. Recently, UK has been witnessing a number of instances where local authorities went for projects highlighting super fast broadband access.
The council has revealed to the media the fact that a sudden increase in the number of staff working from home had triggered of an urgent need for a broadband connection of higher capacity. The council also hoped that its major problem of increased traffic in its network would be resolved by the boost in the broadband UK network capacity.
