SMEs offered £1,000 installation discount by KC Business

Thursday, November 19th 2015

Small and medium sized industries (SMEs) are now being offered an installation discount of up to £1,000, when taking up a connection with KC, the incumbent telecoms operator of Hull. SMEs wishing to connect to the existing broadband network of KC, called Lightstream, will practically pay nothing to connect with a package from KC business division, through this offer. It is available across the provider's Hull and East Yorkshire network.

This move by the ISP is in response to the withdrawal of the Connection Voucher scheme offered earlier by Government. The eligibility criteria for the discount says that SMEs employing fewer than 250 persons and a turnover of less than 50 million Euros and/or having less than 43 million Euros in their balance sheet only can apply. Those applying should not have availed previously a connection voucher of the Government scheme.

Similar promotions have been offered by other ISPs and this offer would be available only up to 31st December this year. Although there is no confirmation, it is believed that Government may announce an extension of the original voucher scheme.
