Friday, December 23rd 2011

According to BT, the reputed broadband provider, more than 25,000 premises in West Wales will get copper line broadband connection by next summer.

Download speeds of 20 Mbps can be attained. Already about 52% of the homes do have the facility already. By summer the figure may rise to 71%.

About 33 towns in Wales are included in the list of BT for faster connectivity.

The investment is apart from the GBP 2.5 billion set aside by BT for providing faster broadband speeds to 66% of the UK premises by the end of 2014.

Maria Battle of ‘Consumer Focus Wales’ remarked that availability of broadband access to online services is absolutely important for the Wales consumers. That is why the residents are pleased about BT’s initiative. BT must be appreciated for considering the interest of the rural masses also.

Ann Beynon of ‘BT Wales’ stated that BT’s work is progressing fast. BT had already announced that by 2012 end 475,000 Wales premises will get super fast broadband. Apart from that BT has decided to take up the installation of copper lines for fast broadband.

BT is probably the only service provider to do so much for Wales. The local establishments and residents are showering praise on BT for its initiative at a time when economic uncertainty is prevailing not only in the UK, but worldwide as well.
