Fibre Optic Broadband Boost for Wales
The businesses and households across Wales that have longed for a reasonably fast broadband connection for improving their routine standards have a reason to celebrate today as a couple of exchanges here has been fortified with fibre optic broadband technology by BT.
It has been reported that the prominent fixed-line broadband provider operating in the United Kingdom has installed the technology in the Taff Well and central Cardiff exchanges as part of its GBP 1.5 billion UK-wide superfast broadband network launch programme.
It has also been reported to the great delight of the Welsh broadband UK consumers that in the near future, other exchanges in the country could also benefit from the next generation broadband technology that offered connection speeds of up to 40Mbps.
The director of BT for Wales, Ann Beynon said that the principality's businesses and households have increasingly become dependent on broadband internet. She added that the network and the Cardiff and Taffs BT exchanges upgrade was the latest important step towards ensuring Wales the benefits from a leading edge technology, which was capable of delivering a galaxy of innovative fresh applications.
It is also worth mentioning here that the leading fixed-line broadband provider in the UK had launched a spring sale, where BT broadband bundles were availed at lower prices.
