Business Heads In Tendring Welcome BT’s Plans to Offer Fibre Broadband

With BT announcing that they are planning to offer fibre optic broadband to many people in Tendring Essex, everyone especially the people in business in Tendring locality have absolutely welcomed the announcement.

BT the leaders in telecommunications have promised that they would provide the fibre-optic technology to two-thirds of the UK in the next four years and this is a part of that promise. They have stated that they will improve 13 street cabinets in the Manningtree locality within the next couple of weeks.

East Anglian Daily Times reported that this will provide over 4000 homes and business houses with faster connectivity, with the optimum rate of download being raised to 40 Mbps. This will be enhanced to 80Mbps in the coming year.

BT’s objective is to ensure that more of these fibre-optic broadband connections are provided as soon as possible and also has plans to upgrade the exchanges that are servicing Clacton, Wivenhoe and Frinton in time for Easter.

The development manager for Small Businesses in Essex, Keith Brown, welcomed the proclamation and stated that good, consistent and reasonably priced broadband connectivity was vital for the growth of business in the present century. He also said that the Institution was happy to note that attempts to provide the technology in the Manningtree region was moving fast, as a consequence of which people doing business could profit from the project.

Brian Farrington of the Essex Chamber of Commerce like Keith Brown also hailed the news. He stated that though this was a very important step, it was highly overdue. He said Tendring had not been given due importance so far and that that BT’s plans for upgrading were an excellent beginning. He also stated that the Essex Chamber of Commerce will take the initiative to help deploy work in the Tendring region.

Neil Stock, the leader of Tendring District Council informed that the local organization has been in close association with BT to talk of matters like pre-planning application to ensure that the project will go ahead. He commented that super-fast broadband provided to 4000 homes was a great beginning and it would be too long before more homes are provided with the facility.
