BT’s Strategy Provides 300Mbps Download Speeds To Apartment Buildings
The OpenReach division pof BT is asking all people owning apartments to take part in a trial venture that will finally provide broadband download speeds of up to 300Mbps to the people living in the apartments.
OpenReach stated that they were looking at approximately 1000 apartment blocks that would be within the reach of their fibre deployment to participate in the pilot run.
BT OpenReasch announced in a statement that those people joining the trial project would able to access the fibre-to-the-premises know-how of OpenReach that provides high super-fast broadband download speeds. At first the users would have accessibility to downstream speeds of up to 100Mbps, however the speeds will increase allowing them the choice of up to 300Mbps by the spring of the year 2012.
The winning apartment buildings would be selected based on their registered demand, the support of the landlords and the finances of provision stated BT.
BT stated that spotting the right people and the firms with the right to officially give permission for the apartment buildings is not such an easy task.
