BT recruits 50 new members to its engineering team
To assist the high speed Cornwall fibre optic broadband project, BT has recruited 50 new members. With the new recruits the Cornwall broadband project will get total of 200 engineers. The provider has enlisted the 48 new recruits for this job.
Among the recruited staffs, many are members of the armed forces. Provider hopes, the recruitment will offer boosts to the fibre optic broadband project. Before they enter the work, they will be given few weeks of training. Apart from the training sessions, the new recruits will spend time observing the existing employees. All of them will work at the broadband deployments in Cornwall.
Fibre broadband rollout is progressing at a great speed and with the new recruits it will speed up the deployment. The employees based in Truro will join the work by end of January. Once the deployment is completed, people in Cornwall can benefit from the super fast broadband services. The current progress will connect people in east of Cornwall with high speed broadband.
Cornish communities such as Liskeard, Callington, Launceston, Dobwalls, Bude, Kilkhampton, Marhamchurch, Drakewalls and North Hill could access to high speed broadband by December. The company is moving at a fast pace and they are ahead of the earlier schedule.
