BT customers to get higher bandwidth with added lines

BT Wholesale is to follow the suit of other providers who distribute a software suite which enables their customers to use more than a single line to get better speeds.

Adding multiple lines to a single broadband services gives the aggregate speed of all lines thus improving the performance of the connection considerably. This method was also found to be very cost-effective for many customers and many ISPs provide software support for the bonding of multiple lines.

According to the deal between BT Wholesale and Sharedband, BT customers can get the Sharedband software suite which will provide over four times upstream and downstream steam when multiple lines are added on a single connection.

Paul Evans of Sharedband explained how the Sharedband suite can be helpful to the customers of BT:

"Using Sharedband means that two 2Mbps lines will perform as one connection of up to 4Mbps, four 2Mbps lines will deliver up to 8Mbps and so on.  Crucially, the upload speeds will also be transformed. Working with BT will provide us with tremendous market awareness and scalability to meet the expected demand fuelled by new online applications, especially where upstream bandwidth is needed."

As the options to get higher speeds are not so many in the UK and that too have become a bit expensive nowadays, BT’s announcement is certainly a happy news for its customers who are not affordable to buy the expensive ADSL+2 packages.
