In the Bradwell Abbey exchange area BT, the communications provider is to connect approximately 20,000 more locations to its super-fast broadband infrastructure. To cover 95% of businesses and houses in the Bradwell Abbey, the communications provider has decided to extend the rollout of fibre optic broadband in Milton Keynes. BT has already conducted trial of its ultra-fast fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in the district and now it announced that it will provide the local residents, even better speeds. By the end of next year in Bradwell Abbey, another 20,000 additional premises would be connected to fibre broadband of which about half of the premises would be connected to BT’s FTTH infrastructure. In the area already 11,000 premises are served with FTTH network and another 20,000 are scheduled to be connected. Once this target is met, then the percentage of properties covered would rise approximately to 95. The deputy leader and cabinet member of IT at Milton Keynes Council, Mr. David Hopkins appreciated BT for its further investment in high-speed technology in the Bradwell Abbey region and expected a further enhancement in the communications service. During the last month, BT launched FTTH service in Bradwell Abbey and 9 other exchange areas including Leytonstone, York, Exeter and Chester South. All these places would get broadband speeds up to 100Mbps.
