It has been reported that Be Broadband, the UK service provider, owned by O2, has extended its high-speed broadband network coverage. As per ISPreview.co.uk, since November 2011, Be Broadband has triggered unbundled ADSL2+broadband services at 17 telephone exchanges.

Telephone exchanges at Prestatyn, Evesham, Connahs Quay, Almondsbury, Bassett, Newry, Moira, Hatfield Woodhouse, Bexhill, Belfast Malone, Cookstown, Market Deeping, Stirling, Towcester, Queensbury, Bury St Edmunds, and Coleshill are all already activated by the firm. Thousands of households and businesses are benefited by the up to 24MB broadband packages of the company. The residents of these areas are expected to get broadband speeds up to 24 MB. This would enable the businesses in this region to become more competent. Faster broadband would pave the way for the creation of new businesses, development of existing businesses, advancement in education, creation of new job opportunities etc. In the modern times superfast broadband is considered as the life blood of the economy.

According to the news provider, around 1300 telephone exchanges are included in Be Broadband network. It is estimated that these telephone exchanges would serve almost 70 per cent of the houses in the UK.

Currently, subscribers are being migrated to the firm’s new core network. The new network is designed with an aim to improve both resiliency and capacity. Be Broadband expects to complete the transition process within 50 weeks.
